Luxury On The Lake
Tucked away on the southern border of Adirondack State Park is The Great Sacandaga Lake Reservoir, often overlooked by travelers hurrying to the tourist Meccas of Lake George and Saratoga. Equal in size to Lake George, but served by no major highways, we are spared the traffic, noise, and congestion of these more popular destinations. And yet, they are a mere 45 minute drive away - longer should you linger to admire the scenery, explore the museums, shops, or the villages you pass along the way.
In our little corner of the Adirondacks you'll find the Nellie Tyrrell and the Rural Museums. The Northville / Northampton Historical Museum and the town of Northville itself, with its coffee bars, small shops and Sacandaga Lake Golf Club are no more than a 15 minute drive.
Or just settle in and enjoy the views from our modern,
lake-front home. The rear deck looks out on a wide expanse of lake. In
Summer you will find the occasional water-skier and fishing boat - and
about as often, canoe and kayakers. Feel free to join them - canoe and
kayaks are available for your use. Bikes are also available if you'd
care to explore the countryside under your own power. Passing our
driveway's end, North Shore Road offers magnificent views of the Lake -
mile after winding mile. Karaoke nights at The Old Trail Inn, two miles
down the road, are Thursdays and Saturdays. The crowd is warm and
friendly. It's another mile to the Four Corners Diner. Both are opened
year round, the fare is excellent. You will struggle to find an entree
more than $10.
